Travel Apps: Trip It

Description: "Get peace of mind while traveling, by having all your plans in one place.
No more frantic searching for confirmation emails in your inbox - or worse yet – hunting down that pesky manila folder. TripIt is an easier way to organize and share travel.
TripIt “automagically” takes all your trip details and creates one truly helpful itinerary that’s there when and where you need it – on your on your smartphone or tablet, sync’d with your calendar, and online at tripit.com." Google Play Store: Check out "TripIt - Travel Organizer"

The Real Deal: I really like this app. It is a free sign up account that lets you organize your trips. I have actually condensed all my itineraries, bookings, and tickets into one single timeline that is easy to follow and can sync with my phone's calendar.

Conclusion: A great app to organize your trip. Useful if you travel a lot or need to organize travel plans with other people as your plans can be shared by email or another TripIt user. If you are vacationing just use the free account. Upgrade to the Pro Account only if you are a business traveler to get the most out of it.

Travel Apps: Air bnb

Description: "Unlock the doors to inspiring and unique accommodations around the world with the Airbnb App!

Airbnb is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world – online or from a mobile phone. Whether an apartment for a night, a castle for a week, or a villa for a month, Airbnb connects people to unique travel experiences, at any price point, anywhere on Earth. And with world-class customer service and a growing community of users, Airbnb is the easiest way for people to monetize their extra space and showcase it to an audience of millions." Google Play Store: Check out "Airbnb"

TheReal Deal: Once you sign up (free account) you'll have access to thousands of possibilities. You can browse through the people's (or hosts) homes (as funny as it sounds) and choose an apartment, room, even a couch that best suites you for your trip. At first you may be wary of staying at other people's home, but the price may be just worth it, and you may even start a new friendship.
You also have the option to lease to other people if you feel up for the challenge and need a second income.

Tip: Start out with hosts who are vastly reviewed.
May sure you always ask the renters anyone from price range, to accommodations. Even though a detailed description may be provided on the apartment/room it always helps to double check and not come into any surprises (specially with the price).

Conclusion: I have booked a private room in London with this young couple. The price per night was very reasonable specially given the timing of my trip (during the Summer Olympics). They have great reviews, and I hope to have a great experience with Airbnb.
I am currently trying to book another place in Barcelona so I will have two reviews after my Summer vacation.
